✈ New & Resumed Flights TO Japan
✈ Current Status and Outlook for International Flights Departing from Fukuoka
Fukuoka Airport began operations on its second runway in March 2025, significantly expanding its capacity for takeoffs and landings. As a result, there has been a succession of new international route launches and the resumption of service, with activity in 2025 spanning destinations such as Busan, Taoyuan, Shanghai, Kaohsiung, Ho Chi Minh City, and Bangkok.
Fukuoka International Airport Corporation has unveiled a mid-term plan aiming to expand to 38 international routes by fiscal year 2028, and plans to focus on attracting routes to resort destinations in Southeast Asia, cities in China not yet served by the airport, and destinations in Europe, the United States, and Australia. Work is also underway to improve the airport’s facilities, including the extension of the concourse and the addition of check-in counters.
Meanwhile, Hawaiian Airlines’ Fukuoka–Honolulu route is currently suspended, and it is one of the routes for which a resumption is eagerly awaited. Moving forward, expectations are high for the launch of new routes to Europe and the United States, driven by strong inbound travel demand in Kyushu.
