New hotels in Kitakami City

Located in central Iwate Prefecture along the Kitakami River, this industrial city has in recent years become known as a hub for semiconductor production. Kioxia, a leading manufacturer of NAND flash memory, has established its Kitakami Plant (Kioxia Iwate) as its second-largest production base after the Yokkaichi Plant (Mie Prefecture), and Against the backdrop of growing demand for AI and data centers, the plant continues to expand—including the scheduled start of operations for the second manufacturing building (Building K2) in the fall of 2025—and related business and travel demand is on the rise.
