An urban hot spring area located near the center of Yamaguchi City. It is home to a legend about a white fox that healed its wounds here, and is also known as the birthplace of the poet Nakaya Nakahara. New hotels in Suo-Oshima Town
A town comprising remote islands centered on Suo-Oshima (Yashirojima), which lies in the Seto Inland Sea in southeastern Yamaguchi Prefecture. Known as the “Hawaii of the Seto Inland Sea,” this resort area is renowned for its mild climate and beautiful ocean. Katazoe Beach is popular for its white sand and is a hub for swimming, fishing, and surfing. The island is connected to the mainland by the Oshima Bridge, making it easily accessible by car.

A city in eastern Yamaguchi Prefecture famous for the Kintai Bridge (one of Japan’s Three Great Bridges, a wooden five-span arch bridge). It is home to Iwakuni Air Base (U.S. military), and the city center is accessible by bus from JR Shin-Iwakuni Station (served by the Sanyo Shinkansen).

A port city at the westernmost tip of Honshu, it is a key transportation hub facing Kitakyushu City across the Kanmon Strait.
